About Mindful Presence –
What We Do
We cause physical changes in distracted, overworked brains to create a mind that is alert, self-aware, and fully present with what is happening throughout each day.
WHAT IS MINDFULNESS?
Mindfulness is open awareness with no agenda. Scientific Research suggests that negative effects of stress on the body reduce our immune system and overall health. With consistent mindfulness meditation practice, physical changes in the brain change how we respond to stress creating healthier ways of being with ourselves and others.
About the Founder
Hi! I’m Christine O’Shaughnessy, founder or Mindful Presence. I founded Mindful Presence in 2004 to reduce stress and help individuals thrive in emotional intelligence, leadership, and creativity.
Knowing the effects that stress can play in people’s health has focused my interest in incorporating mindfulness meditation into daily life as an integral tool for stress management, relaxation training, addiction, anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain and long-term illnesses. I have practiced Insight Meditation and yoga for almost 20 years, taught for 14 years, and am RYT200 certified.
I utilize the depth and knowledge from my previous career as a corporate executive into my mindfulness trainings to guide individuals to become more mindful leaders in the workplace. I have worked as the Managing Director of a search and consulting firm; the Director of Sales for a software company; and as a Vice President and Senior Credit Analyst at Loomis, Sayles & Co., an investment management firm in Boston. I hold a BA in Finance and an MBA from Babson College.
In my formal training, I have completed intensive training programs and attended silent retreats at Insight Meditation Center, Cambridge Insight Meditation Center, and BCBS. I provide Yin Yoga Intensive Teacher Training programs and am also the co-creator of Harvard Pilgrim’s online instructional yoga videos and Present app available on iTunes.
Along with providing mindfulness training through Mindful Presence, I am also an Executive Coach for Landit and a Mindfulness Instructor for Harvard Pilgrim Health Care offering mindfulness courses and yoga to a diverse clientele including Admiral Metals, Google, Harvard University, MIT, Mitre, Papa Gino’s, South Shore Hospital, South Shore VNA, Sun Life, Tufts University, and Scituate Public Schools.
