What You Will Learn

Mindfulness is a state of active, open attention on the present. When you’re mindful, you observe your thoughts and feelings from a distance, without judging them good or bad. Instead of letting your life pass you by, you live in the moment and are awakened to the experience.

When the mind is clear you can “see” everything more easily. With consistent practice, you will cultivate greater peace, harmony, and balance in your life.  In Mindful Presence’s Attention Training course, you will learn how to:

  • Observe wandering thoughts as they drift through the mind
  • See how your thoughts and feelings tend to move in particular patterns
  • Build present-moment, non-judgmental awareness
  • Enhance emotional self-regulation
  • Decrease stress & anxiety
  • Gain health and wellness benefits

What This Work Requires

Meaningful change requires more than insight. It requires attention, reflection, experimentation, and consistent application.

Our work together is designed to strengthen your awareness of how you think, respond, make decisions, and direct your attention. Through cognitive mapping, metacognitive practices, attention training, and coaching, you will begin to recognize patterns that support your performance and those that may limit it.

Between sessions, you will observe specific patterns, apply new strategies, experiment with different responses, and practice techniques to strengthen attention and cognitive flexibility.

The goal is to build the capacity to notice what is happening, understand what is driving it, and make more intentional choices.

The more consistently you engage with the work between sessions, the more effectively you will translate insight into lasting changes in leadership, performance, and decision-making.

Scientific Research

Evidence suggests that attention training practice is associated with neuroplastic changes in the amygdala that positively impact cognition, mood, and enhanced emotional self-regulation. The following studies delve deeper in to how mindfulness and meditation impact your brain and well-being:
